Where to trail running in Feb/March

Ciao!

My partner and I are Canadian trail runners who will be in Italy in late February and March. We are hoping to spend some time in places where we can enjoy trail running (and ideally where the conditions during that time are not too snowy/icy/technical). Any suggestions? We appreciate all help and would love to make some new running friends if the trails are good where you live then!
